VCB (Vaccum Cricuit Breaker)

A VCB (Vacuum Circuit Breaker) is a type of medium-voltage circuit breaker that uses a vacuum as the arc-quenching medium to interrupt electrical faults. It is commonly used in power distribution systems ranging from 3.3kV to 36kV, especially in industries, substations, and utility networks. When a fault occurs, the contacts of the VCB separate inside a sealed vacuum interrupter. Because the vacuum has no air or gas particles, the electrical arc extinguishes extremely fast, making VCBs highly reliable, safe, and long-lasting.

Detail

A Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) is widely trusted in medium-voltage power distribution for its exceptional reliability, long service life, and ability to operate safely under demanding electrical conditions. It ensures fast interruption, minimal arc wear, and consistent performance across substations, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and critical infrastructures. Known for requiring very low maintenance and delivering stable operation over thousands of switching cycles, a VCB provides dependable protection against electrical faults while maintaining system efficiency and safety. At Packard Engineering Ltd., we proudly supply authentic Schneider Electric VCBs in 630A and 1250A ratings, offering high-quality solutions for a broad range of medium-voltage applications.
