Push Button Switch

Push button switch is a manually operated electrical control device used to start, stop, or control a circuit by pressing a button. It momentarily makes or breaks contact when pushed and returns to its normal position when released. Push buttons come in momentary (NO/NC), latching, illuminated, and emergency stop (E-stop) types, depending on application needs. They are commonly used in control panels, machinery, automation systems, motor starters, and industrial equipment. Typical features include durable plastic or metal bodies, modular contact blocks, IP-rated protection, and color-coded actuators like green for start, red for stop, and yellow/blue/black for special functions. Many industrial brands, including Schneider Electric, offer push button switches in standard 22 mm or 30 mm mounting sizes, providing reliable tactile operation, long electrical life, and compatibility with indicator lights and selector switches.
